Oxfordshire County Council Community Initiatives & Campaigns

Important update

This is a regular update about initiatives and campaigns to share with communities.

Below are summaries of our current campaigns. The information you need to communicate these and any other current campaigns is either included in the text or is accessible through a communications pack in the portal.

If you have any questions, please email communications@oxfordshire.gov.uk and remember to keep coming back because we’ll add campaign information as we go live with it.

It’s Well Worth It

We want our residents to be able to stop smoking. But many smokers need extra support to help them.

Some of the best incentives to make a change come when we see progress. For this campaign, we’re focusing on the benefits that people see very quickly once they stop smoking – and then directing them to the Stop For Life Oxon services.

With this campaign you are able to order physical copies of leaflets and posters through our communications toolkit. Or follow the link below to explore the wider messages and graphics we’ve made available.

Home upgrade grant closing soon

We’d like your help in spreading the word that Home Upgrade Grant funding will be closing soon. The deadline to apply is 31 October 2024, so there’s not much time left for Oxfordshire residents to take advantage of this opportunity for free energy efficient home upgrades.

Do something amazing this Care Leavers Week

Help support young adults who have recently left the social care system by being part of our careers event on Tuesday 29 October at County Hall, Oxford.

Make a positive impact, showcase your business, and network with like-minded people. We need exhibitors, mentors, and those offering placements, jobs, or apprenticeships. We’re also hosting an awards ceremony on 30 October and looking for sponsorship or goody bags. Interested?

Travel choices

The roads in and around Oxford are getting more and more congested. By making small changes, we can all contribute to a more sustainable and less congested city.

Our travel choices campaign is asking people to make a difference one journey at a time and help reduce congestion by using public transport when possible.

If you are able to include our messages within your own communications, we would be very grateful.

Recycle Week is fast approaching (14 – 20 October) and this year it’s all about saving recyclable items from ending up in the waste bin.

We’re running a competition and we’d love you to share the news with your audiences.

Designs need to be in by 20 October.

Morning after pill

In Oxfordshire, many are not aware they can access the morning after pill for free from some pharmacies.
