2024 Annual Flower and Produce Show

Enstone Garden Club Flower & Produce Show 2024

The annual show will take place in Enstone Parish Hall on Saturday 24 August, 1.30 – 4:15 p.m. The full schedule of classes for the exhibition is included in the July Enstone Ensign and may be found by clicking on the ‘Schedule’ image on the right.

All classes are FREE to enter and are open to all.

For advance entries please complete this form and deposit in the box in Adams Stores or email to before Thursday 22 August.

Entries for any class will be accepted up to 10.30 a.m. on the morning of the show

Set up will be in the morning before 11.00 and the hall will be open in the afternoon from 1.30.


Enstone Garden Club

(Formerly Enstone Horticultural Society)

The Enstone Garden Club is open to everyone in the community who shares an interest in gardens and gardening. At the January 2023 Annual General Meeting the membership agreed to a resolution to change the organisation’s name from the Enstone Horticultural Society to The Enstone Garden Club.

We have a lively programme and welcome new members. During the year we organise local events, including horticultural and flower shows, talks by gardening experts and visits to gardens in the area and other events. Please see below for our 2024 programme. 

With our membership card, you are also able to obtain discounts from Applegarth, Yarnton and Charlbury Garden Centres. Members can also benefit from discounts on seed and flower bulb orders.

New members are always welcome. Members are encouraged to subscribe or to renew their membership for 2024 by direct BACS transfer or at one of the club’s events. Subscription rates are unchanged at £10 individual, £15.00 joint. The account details are:

Programme of Events in 2024

Winter Garden Visit, Islip, Sunday 18 February, 3 pm

Visit to Hollyhocks, Avril Hughes’ garden in North Street, Islip OX5 2SQ. This visit follows the fascinating talk given by Avril in October about winter colour in the garden. There will be an entry cost for this garden of £4.00.

Dry Stone Walling day, Monday 4 March

The class on dry stone walling will take place on Monday the 4th of March in Burford between 8.30 and 3.30. The cost will be £100 for the day, with instruction by experienced waller, Tom Hazzledine.  It’s not too late to be included. Please contact the club secretary on 07771 594927.

A talk on Greenhouses: a year round source of seedlings, salads and sanctuary, Monday 25 March, 7.00, Enstone Parish Hall

We are delighted that David Edwards, who regularly opens his gardens and greenhouses in Dean, near Chadlington under the National Gardens Scheme, will share his experience and advice about using greenhouses in the garden.

Spring Flower Show, Saturday 13 April, Enstone Parish Hall

Click here for the Schedule of Classes for the Spring Flower Show, which will also be included in the March, Enstone Ensign. Exhibits to be staged before 12.00 noon, and the show will be open to the public between 2.00 and 4.00 pm.

Plant Sale – 11 May, 10.00 am,  Enstone Parish Hall, 10.00am  – 12.00 noon             

Garden Visit – 3 June, 2.00 pm,  Court House garden, Stretton on Fosse

(£8.00 entry to include tea)

Visit to Kingham Lodge, West End, Kingham, OX7 6YL

Sunday 14 July 3pm, cost £8.00 to include refreshments

An amazing garden of more than five acres. Proceeds go to a charity promoting art in local primary schools.

Establishing Wild Flowers in the Garden 

Monday 21 October 7.00, Enstone Parish Hall, Litchfield Room

An illustrated talk by ecologist and Oxfordshire wildflower expert Craig Blackwell is organised with the Enstone Eco Group.

Willow Weaving Workshop

Saturday 16 November 3 – 6 pm Enstone Parish Hall

Instruction by renowned Warwickshire willow artist Rachel Harwood. The expected cost will be £55.00 for the three hour session, to include all materials and refreshments. More information about Rachel’s work at:
