On 1st September at 6:00 pm, St Kenelm’s Concerts present Nicolle Uzan and Maurice Delaistier in an evening of Spanish Songs for voice and guitar. The concert will showcase three periods of Spanish music:
The first is from the thirteenth century, with medieval songs recounting legends and the miracles of the Holy Virgin Mary
The second is from the Renaissance period when Spanish composers like Miguel de Fuenllana and Gaspar Sanz were composing music of an incomparable freshness.
And as a final offering, Garcia Lorca’s Spain. This major poet was also a very fine musician whose songs are imbued with the spirit of folk music, with a wild dash of flamenco thrown in.
