Enstone Spring Clean

The annual ‘litter-pick’ organised by the Parish Council and Enstone Eco Group, involving more than 25 people, took place in Enstone at the weekend as part of the Great British Spring Clean.

This year’s theme is ‘the environment belongs to everyone’!

Rubbish that was dropped many years ago still causes harm to our environment today, releasing greenhouse gases as it slowly breaks down in our soil and water, which contributes to the climate crisis.

Keep Britain Tidy estimates that £30 for every household in the country is spent on clearing the nation’s litter problem.

The good news is that litter-picking is a simple action that anyone can do at any time. It makes an immediate and visible difference to the environment where we live, work and play.  Around 95% of people in the UK surveyed after 2023’s Litter-Picking campaign agreed they felt they had made a difference to their local area, and 91% said they felt part of a national movement that is taking action to tackle litter.
